San Francisco, 28 July 2022 – Indonesia’s Communications and Information Technology Minister Johnny Plate visited Cisco Systems in San Jose and Meta in San Francisco, the United States on Thursday, 28 July. During the visit, the Minister invited the companies to support the G20 Summit in Bali in November.
“The meeting with Meta went well in Palo Alto, California. The Ministry and Meta are working together to prepare a digital transformation showcase at the G20 Summit’s Digital Transformation Expo. It is currently in the final phase. Hopefully, it will be an interesting exhibition,” said Minister Johnny.
The MCI delegation was welcomed by Monica Desai, Meta’s VP of Connectivity Policy. She looked forward to collaborating with the Ministry to bring Meta’s concept to every aspect of community life.
“We are pleased with the Minister’s visit to Meta’s headquarters in California. We will support the Ministry at the G20 Summit in Indonesia as it is in line with our commitment to advance the digital economy and present Meta for future generations,” she said.
Earlier, Minister Johnny visited Cisco and was welcomed by Cassie Roach, Cisco’s VP of WW Sales, and Country Sponsor. Minister Johnny also invited Cisco to participate at the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia next November. “As you probably already know, Indonesia is currently the G20 Presidency. We invite Cisco to participate in the Digital Transformation Expo at the G20 Summit in November,” he said in a meeting with several Cisco executives.
Cassie Roach welcomed the call for cooperation from the Indonesian government. “I hope the Minister succeeds in the digital transformation agenda to achieve economic growth and develop digital talent,” he said.
Cisco may showcase room panorama, a video conference system. Room panorama transforms a local or global conference or meeting room into a collaborative video hub.
The Minister used his working visit to several satellite and digital technology companies in the United States to promote Indonesia’s G20 presidency. In addition to inviting participants, the Minister presented a gunungan gift or shadow puppet depicting a mountain which is used as Indonesia’s G20 Presidency logo to the companies’ executives.
