South Africa will host the 3rd Technical Meeting on the Empowerment of Women Working Group Meeting from 1 to 4 July 2025 at Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga. Through the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD), South Africa is leading the G20 Empowerment of Women Working Group (EWWG) in efforts to promote women’s participation and representation in leadership, governance, and decision-making, as well as women’s ownership and control.
The Empowerment of Women Working Group will discuss key issues such as: Care Economy: framework for unpaid care work, Framework for national strategies (care work); Financial inclusion: High-level framework leveraging on Financial Equality; Economic empowerment opportunities and partnership; Gender Based Violence and Femicide; focusing on gender Index study on positive masculinity.
