South Africa Hosts the G20 Empowerment of Women Working Group Technical and Ministerial Meeting.

 PRETORIA: South Africa will host the G20 Empowerment of Women Working Group (EWWG) Technical and Ministerial Meeting from 27-31 October 2025 in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Province. The gathering will bring together delegates from G20 member states, Guest Nations, and International Organisations to advance global commitments toward gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.

DETAILS OF THE MEETINGS. 

The Technical Meeting will focus on policy development, research exchange and progress reporting. At the same time, the Ministerial Session will consolidate key recommendations and advance collective action to promote women’s empowerment across the G20 platform.

The G20 Empowerment of Women Working Group (EWWG) Technical and Ministerial Meeting will accelerate the call for women’s economic participation, advancing financial inclusion, ending gender-based violence and fostering social and economic justice for women and girls. The Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) is leading the G20 Working Group for Women’s Empowerment (EWWG) in efforts to promote women’s participation and representation in leadership, governance, and decision-making, as well as women’s ownership and control.
