Indonesia Agrees on Priority Issues at the Third EWG

Geneva, June 14, 2022 -Special Staff of the Minister of Manpower, M. Reza Hafiz Akbar said, in the Third Meeting of the Employment Working Group (EWG) on 14-15 June 2022, Indonesia agreed upon several priority issues as the G20 Presidency.

These issues concern the acceleration of the G20 principles in integrating the labour market for persons with disabilities and community-based vocational training to develop productivity sustainably. “We have agreed on several priority issues and received an extraordinary response from the participants of the Third EWG Meeting,” said Special Staff M. Reza Hafiz Akbar in a press release from the Ministry of Manpower’s Public Relations Bureau, Thursday (16/6/2022).

Reza said that Indonesia also raised important issues regarding job creation and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). He added that around July or August 2022, there would be an additional virtual meeting attended by all participants of the G20 Presidency, especially in employment.

This additional virtual meeting later specifically discusses protection for workers.

“Hopefully, our target before the meeting of the Minister of Manpower of the G20 members in September 2022 will be useful, especially in the field of employment,” he said.
