Jakarta, June 19, 2022 – Several Delegates of the G20 Environment Deputies Meeting and Climate Sustainability Working group (2nd EDM-CSWG) took part in the side event “Family Bike” during Car Free Day (CFD) in Jakarta, on 19 June 2022. They cycled in the morning from Shangri-La Hotel to Bundaran HI, and took a break at Suropati Park.
Director-General of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control (PPKL) of the Ministry for Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Sigit Reliantoro who is also a Co-Chair of EDM-CSWG Meeting said that the side event “family bike” is part of the opening of EDM-CSWG meeting in Jakarta.
“This activity is also one of our efforts to promote that Jakarta already has public facilities to support climate change control through cycling. We [KLHK] together with the Bike to Work community invites the delegates to enjoy Jakarta while exercising,” explained Sigit.
“Hopefully, the cool [morning] breeze will make us more connected, so that discussions and negotiations will be smooth and relaxed, and will generate a better follow-up meeting,” Sigit said at Suropati Park.
